At the same time as the unemployment allowance, you are allowed to receive:

  • a scholarship and transportation and accommodation benefit from the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund;
  • a subsistence benefit from the local government;
  • family benefits pursuant to the Family Benefits Act;
  • social benefits for disabled persons pursuant to the Social Benefits for Disabled Persons Act;
  • alimony paid to your child;
  • maintenance allowance pursuant to the Family Benefits Act;
  • benefits from voluntary unemployment funds of trade unions;
  • remuneration paid for temporary work (up to EUR 354,40 per month in 2025);
  • the degree study allowance paid by the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund
  • subsidies paid on the basis of the employment program and subsidies co-financed from the support of the European Union;
  • one-time or periodic subsidies paid from the funds of the state budget or the budget of the local government unit, or compensations paid to compensate the cost.

If you have any other income (such as pension for incapacity for work, survivor's pension, parental benefit, income from rent, sickness benefit, scholarship, etc.) which together exceed EUR 410,13, then you are not eligible for unemployment allowance. If the income exceeding EUR 410,13 appears while receiving unemployment allowance, you must notify your consultant thereof immediately.

You are not eligible to receive unemployment allowance in the period when you are paid unemployment insurance benefit. You are also not eligible for unemployment allowance in the period for which you are paid work ability allowance, except for in the case when the work ability allowance is paid retroactively for the period that coincides with the period of paying unemployment allowance.

If you have been assigned a flexible old-age pension, you are also not eligible for unemployment allowance, except for in the case when the flexible old-age pension is paid retroactively for the period that coincides with the period of paying unemployment allowance.
