Supported employment service

The purpose of supported employment service is to increase the preparedness of people with health-related obstacles in entering the open job market and help them find and maintain employment.

The service is intended for clients for whom work-focused counselling and previous employment services have not been sufficient to become and stay employed.

During the service, you will find out about your job prospects and try different types of work as part of an internship or temporary job. You will be supported in finding a suitable job and in communicating with employers. Once you start work, the service provider will support you in carrying out your tasks and communicating with colleagues.  If necessary, they will make suggestions to your employer for adapting your tasks and working environment and support you in solving any problems that arise. If necessary and with your consent, the service provider may involve other professionals or family members to support you.

The service lasts for up to 12 months.

You have a right to receive supported employment service if you have been registered as partially incapable of work. Clients fully incapable of work will not be directed to the service. The supported employment service is not provided to a client who is also receiving the employment support service provided for in § 91 of the Social Welfare Act.
